2008 was another successful year for Travel Camp. We ventured all the way around Lake Michigan through Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan!
We stopped off at the Harley Davidson factory to learn how the legendary motorcycles were built and get a feel what it was like to ride one! We enjoyed the sun and sand at the Indiana dunes.
The fun didn't stop in Michigan where we went to visit a Dutch village and even wound up in the middle of a civil war reenactment! We boarded the S.S. Badger and took a 4-hour ferry ride across Lake Michigan to make our way home.
There was just enough time for a quick stop on the way to learn how a very popular alcoholic beverage was made - but we didn't sample a drop! We swam every night and managed to squeeze in time to visit a local zoo.
Thanks to all who made Travel Camp '08 so special. The gap is getting ever closer in the campers versus staff bowling competition. Could 2009 be the year the staff finally steal victory? Watch this space for details concerning Travel Camp 2009 coming January 1, 2009!
