Dear North Shore Day Camp and NSDC SPORTS Families,
This is an exciting year for us at NSDC and NSDC Sports. We are pleased to announce the grand opening of the Lillian L. Lutz Recreation Center, formally “The Max”. We will have a new pool with two shallow ends, a waterslide, a new deck and a fantastic Splash Park with lots of exciting water play activities to cool down our campers. We know that all the campers will have an amazing time enjoying this new site!
Since the fall weather has made us forget about summer, we want to remind you that each and every day is filled with fun at NSDC. Here are just a few of the great things that we have planned for this upcoming summer: field trips, over and undernighters at Camp Henry Horner, camper's choice, art, drama, dance, sports, and don't forget the Friday Cookouts. Of course it wouldn't be NSDC without our fantastic Friday Fundays including Blizzard Bash, Olympics, and our 4th Annual NSDC Idol.

Pioneers K-1st grade
The Pioneer Unit's daily activities are structured for fun twists and shouts of excitement. Pioneers can also try a “total camp experience” with an undernighter at JCYS Camp Henry Horner- a day complete with boating, fishing, and a cookout.
Activities Include:

Explorers 2nd-3rd grade
Explorers get their groove on with new challenges and adventures. Through our Camper's Choice program, Explorers pursue individual interests and develop skills with programming designed for their specific age group and interests. We offer a number of different popular activities including:
- Sports Leagues- Tennis, Ga-Ga, Dodgeball
- Creative Arts
- Daily Instructional/Free Swim
- Performing Arts
- Weekly Field Trips
- Overnighter at Camp Henry Horner
- Unit Activities

Traiblazers 4th-5th grade
The Trailblazer's experience is filled with adventure and fun. We encourage campers to develop their individuality, learning to socialize with the other members of their group. Campers in the Trailblazers group select areas of concentration to cultivate their talents and learn new skills. Trailblazers choose from the following:

Teen Scene 6th-8th grade
We realize that our "on-the-go" older campers crave special activities and recognition as they grow and mature. In our Teen Scene program, campers participate in co-ed activities which are social and bonding experiences. As the elders at NSDC, Teen Scene campers are given extra privileges such as their own free swim period, responsibility to plan a special Teen Scene Friday Fun-day for all of camp, and Amazing Field trips. Teen Scene campers are “on location” 3 days each week - taking off to exciting locations like Navy Pier, Great America, Laser Quest, Soldier Field, and more!
