Q. Will there be a chance for my family to visit camp before it begins?
A. We invite all campers and their families, whether returning or brand new, to our Pre-Camp Party! This is a great opportunity to meet your counselors and other campers in your group, to tour the camp's grounds, and to get answers to any last minute questions!

If you are new to NSDC, we also invite you to a New Parent Round-Up at the JCYS George W. Lutz Family Center Monday, May 18th at 6:00 pm.

Q. Where do campers swim?
A. Campers swim at the JCYS Max Davidson Tennis & Swim Center (known as The Max). The Max is located at 1195 Half Day Road, at the corner of Trailway and Half Day Road (Rt. 22), just east of Highway 41. We swim every day except on field trip days.

Q. What does NSDC do when it is extremely hot?
A. At NSDC, we train our staff and campers to take great precautions in order to avoid sunstroke and dehydration. We recognize the risk of heat-related illness every day of camp, whether or not it is an official "ozone action day." However, on days when the weather is unusually risky, we may take campers on an out-of-camp trip to a fun, air-conditioned location.

Q. Does NSDC have door-to-door transportation?
A. NSDC offers door-to-door bus service whenever possible. If your street is too narrow or is a dead-end or cul-de-sac, you will be asked to meet the bus at the nearest bus-accessible corner.
Each bus has at least one NSDC staff member on board for safety, communication with parents, and the comfort of our campers. NSDC and NSDC Sports have the option for Drop-off and Pick-up at camp for an extra savings.

Q. Does NSDC offer a lunch program?
A. We want to make lunch stress-free for parents and delicious for kids. Lunch Club offers tasty and nutritious meals from local restaurants. You can order by session or for the whole summer. You are responsible for providing lunch on field trip days. On Fridays, NSDC provides a BBQ as part of our Friday Fun-Day. Lunch Club is not available to Teen Scene campers due to their varying daily schedule

Q. What is NSDC's Safety Policy?
A. To keep our campers as safe as possible, we have devised a safety plan, based on the one used by District 112. All doors to our facility remain locked at all times. Camp staff escorts campers in and out of the building. Each of our administrative staff carries two-way radios. There is a P.A. system set up throughout the entire building. Any adults visiting camp will have to check in at the camp office to receive a visitor's sticker. We train our staff to immediately report any unidentified visitors.
