JCYS-Young Men's launches its Second Century Capital Campaign.
While marking its 100th birthday on November 7, 2007, JCYS has kicked off a $20 million effort to expand and modernize its thriving facilities.
This Agency-wide campaign boasts two major initiatives:
- The brand new JCYS Lillian Lutz Lakeview Family Center - a state-of-the-art Chicago flagship, just steps from Wrigley Field.
Major donors to-date:
Marshall G. Lutz Foundation... This lead gift has initiated the campaign, and will rename the Center to honor the memory - and legacy - of Lillian L. Lutz.
Polk Bros. Foundation a continued supporter of JCYS Adventure Education, the Polk Bros. Foundation has made a $750,000 commitment to name the new Center's gymnasium - which will serve as the JCYS Adventure Education program's new headquarters.
- The construction of a new program building and complete facility renovation of the JCYS Max Davidson Tennis & Swim Center, an outdoor community center in Highland Park, which is home to two JCYS day camps.
And coming soon!
Thanks to the generosity of the Sacks Family Foundation, State of Illinois, Ruth Lodge for Handicapped Children, and other members of the community, JCYS Camp Red Leaf will soon break ground on the JCYS Sacks Recreation Building - providing a place for gross-motor activities, as well as a convenient spot for meals, just steps from Red Leaf Village's Shirley and Hilton Leibow Lodge.
Additional projects include facility additions and renovations at JCYS Camp Henry Horner - our day and overnight camp, JCYS Camp Red Leaf - which serves children and adults with developmental disabilities, JCYS Northwest Family Center in Buffalo Grove, and JCYS George W. Lutz Family Center in Highland Park.
