Big City Day Camp


Age: entering Kindergarten - 6th grade by fall 2010

Dates: June 28 to August 20
Post Camp Option - August 23 to 27

Days/Times: Mon.-Fri., 9:00 a.m - 3:00 p.m.
Before Camp Option Available: 7:45 a.m - 9:00 a.m.
After Camp Option Available: 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Big City Day Camp offers fun and exciting activities in the city designed especially for school age children. Campers enjoy singing, sports, cooperative games, arts and crafts, unique field trips, behind-the-scenes experiences, and cookouts.Weekly sessions with professional artists, actors, yoga instructors and sports coaches round out this one-of-a-kind urban camp adventure.  Additionally, they enjoy sun and sand at Chicago beaches and local pools and water parks where they play water games and work on improving their swimming skills in a fun, safe environment. . Shabbat is celebrated each Friday with songs and Challah. Campers that are 3rd grade and up can enjoy a one-night overnight adventure at JCYS Camp Henry Horner. Camper-to-counselor ratio is low for safety and individual attention, and lead counselors are college educated.

Camp is based at Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted.

Daily snacks are provided; campers provide their own lunches which are stored in coolers.

Sunflower Day Camp

Age: 2 years by June 21, 2010
Camp Dates:June 21 - August 13, 2010

Sunflower Day Camp is designed especially for children 2 through 5 years old. Our campers enjoy age appropriate water activities, in-house field trips, and lots of fun outside where they enjoy arts & crafts, music, games and of course playing with their friends. Hot, nutritious kosher-style lunches are provided. Children need not be toilet trained.



Challah Days
The Jewish Sabbath is celebrated every Friday with special songs, snacks and customs. Enjoy the tradition in your home by signing up for Challah days. Delicious fresh Challah bread is delivered for you to JCYS from North Shore Kosher Bakery each week.
