JCYS Camp Henry Horner Day Camp is a REAL CAMP. With a pool and our lakefront, swimming, boating, sailing and windsurfing are just a wave away.
We hit the beach for sand castles, barbecues, picnics and sand volleyball. Sports like volleyball, tennis, Gaga and more keep our campers on the move. For artists and performers, the "studio" and "stage" keep campers creativity at its peak. Children are never too young to learn things like sharing, caring, respect and friendship. And there is no time of year better than summer to add values like these to a fun-filled experience.
Our Day Camp that serves over 350 families complete with door-to-door bus service in 4, 6, and 8 week sessions.
Day campers (Pre-K to 8th grade) see and feel "camp" going on around them, with their own very dedicated place - a camp within a camp. Camp Henry Horner is right here in Lake County, secluded enough to feel like Camp but close enough for total convenience. We do lots of those camp-like traditions, but then we mix them up with lots of cool activities and truly exciting travel adventures.
Children are never too young to learn things like sharing, caring, respect and friendship. And there is no time of year better than summer to add values like these to a fun-filled experience.
There is a real difference at Henry Horner Overnight camp. It's about fun...more!...our overnight camp serves almost 300 campers entering 3rd-10th grades in 1,2,4,or 6 week sessions. We're just the right size. Big enough to offer all we do, small enough so everyone feels comfortable, even if it just might be a first overnight camp experience. Our Overnight Camp serves over 250 families in 1, 2,4 and 6 week sessions. It combines a traditional resident camp with a travel component as we go by coach bus each weekend to a Midwest amusement like Mall of America. We have amazing evening activities and celebrate Shabbat each Friday in addition to selecting up to 4 different activities each week. All overnight camp cabins are climate controlled.
Our special needs camp, Camp Red Leaf, serves adults and children with developmental disabilities in 8- one week sessions during the summer, several travel adventures for adults and ten respite weekends during the year for children and young adults.
Our Conference Center is open year round and can accommodate up to 300 people in air-conditioned and heated facilities complete with food service. Groups can use all facilities that are seasonally appropriate. Camp is prepared to provide a full range of programs, but groups can "do their own thing".
Our Outdoor Education and High Sierra Adventure Programs are quite popular for school, youth, scout and business groups from late march until mid-November.
